Today we are featuring Saskatchewan’s very first geocache, GC14F – Sask-cache-one.

This cache was placed on January 7th, 2001, by Donovan Onishenko.  It has held up very well, as it is a classic ammo can.

If passing through the area, this cache is a must find due to its notoriety.  This cache was placed before GPS receivers even had maps, and just 14 months after the very first “stash” was placed in May of 2000.

The cache is approximately 20 km west of Saskatoon, and approximately an hour’s drive away from the Mega Event location in Rosthern.  There are coordinates of a  good place to park noted on the cache listing.  The cache is about 500m from this spot.  A short walk along a farmer’s field will lead to you to cache.

Happy Caching!
